Riti Tiwari

The Teacher Dance Assistant

Born and raised in the Central Plains of India, Riti arrived in Canada to pursue her post-secondary education nearly five years ago.

She has been deeply enthusiastic about dancing all her life, and two years ago finally embarked on a journey with Tania Amaral to study the intricate techniques of Afro Fusion Sharqi Dancing, a fusion style that she believes is quite unique in itself.

Steeped richly in tradition, and giving enormous respect to the roots and the land from which these movements originate, she believes that learning AFSD has truly been an enriching experience, fostering stronger connections of mind, body, and soul. According to her, it is a deep honour to be practicing the craft and considers it a privilege to be able to share it with the community.

When she is not dancing, she enjoys reading poetry, painting, and baking in her spare time.
