AFSD - Afro Fusion Sharqi Danceᵀᴹ (Adults) With Tania Amaral
Description: This is an Adult Dance Class and the goal is to develop skills such as good posture, technique, body expression, muscle control, body isolation, space exploration, level change, combinations, musicality, rhythm, step-by-step of every movement and the cultural aspects behind it, and much more. Students will learn the first part of AFSDᵀᴹ vocabulary.
Classes are for everyone who likes to dance, have fun and learn new skills. It’s all about inclusivity.
Level: Beginner

Duration: Classes run as a 10-week session. Classes must be taken in sequence, skipping classes will omit you from the program.

AFSDᵀᴹ - Adults Drop-In Class With Riti Tiwari.
Description: I know, sometimes you feel like you are a block, with 2 left feet and no coordination. Guess who is also like that? Every human being when they are born. And guess what? IT’S FINE. You are not competing with anybody, not even with yourself. So just come, bring a friend/partner if you wish, and try. Again, no commitment, just some fun while you move, and burn some fat & calories.
Students will learn the first part of AFSDᵀᴹ vocabulary.

AFSDᵀᴹ - Kids 5-8 With Tania Amaral
Description: We already know that kids love to have fun in dance classes and yes, they need lots of repetition and that each step is explained clearly. Yes, they also need to get positive feedback at every opportunity. But more than that they also need brain stimulation, they need to be offered choices, and new ways of movement so that they can explore different possibilities. They need encouragement so that they can participate more and why not give them that using different African dance movements & rhythms? This is a class that they will not have to wait for their turn because the class is always moving.
Classes are for everyone who likes to dance, have fun and learn new skills. It’s all about inclusivity.

Baladi - An Egyptian Dance & Rhythm (Adults)
Description: Egypt, the land that the ancient Africans called “Kemet”- the black country, the Arabs called “Misr” and the Greeks gave the name “Egypt” – that is, “Aguptos”. Today the country is the most populous nation in Africa, after Nigeria. As with any African country Egypt is full of Culture & Customs and its Dances & Rhythms is one of many expressions of that. Baladi aka Masmoudi Sagheer or Raqs El Baladi is one of the highest statements in dance & rhythm in Egypt and this dance class is focused on that. Besides the cultural importance of this dance and rhythm, the step-by-step of every movement with the correct aesthetic behind it, the goals are also to develop skills such as good body alignment for this dance, technique, body expression, muscle control, space exploration, body orientation in space, level changes and musicality. Students will learn some of the most important dance movements, rhythms, and instruments related to Baladi, and they will receive handouts during the 12-Week Session.
Classes are for any adult that enjoys dancing and learning new dance movements with cultural education behind them.

AFSDᵀᴹ - Teenagers 13-18
Description: Afro Fusion Sharqi Danceᵀᴹ is a dance style/ form, that fuses the different elements of the dance cultures in Africa, creating bridges that connect Africa's diversity. During the class besides the cultural importance of the movements, I will teach step-by-step every movement with the correct aesthetic behind it always following good body alignment. Students will learn the basic movement vocabulary of this dance style, working a lot around improvisation as a way to develop their creativity and confidence through experimenting on their own. During the classes, important rhythms from Countries from North, Central, Southern, Western, and Eastern Africa will be played to work on musicality. The goals are also to develop skills such as technique, body expression, muscle control, space exploration, body orientation in space, and level changes. Students will receive handouts during the 12-week Session.
Classes are for any teenager who likes to try new things and learn new dance movements with cultural education behind them.

AFSDᵀᴹ - Seniors 65+
Description: Afro Fusion Sharqi Danceᵀᴹ is a dance style/ form, that fuses the different elements of the dance cultures in Africa, creating bridges that connect Africa's diversity. During the class besides the cultural importance of the movements, I will teach step-by-step every movement with the correct aesthetic behind it always following good body alignment. Seniors will learn the basic movement vocabulary of this dance style, always respecting the use of space (self-space vs general space) to keep safety in check in the first place, and that is why every movement in class can be executed seated in a chair or standing up. Besides the use of props in some classes, important rhythms from Countries from North, Central, Southern, Western, and Eastern Africa will be played as a way to stimulate cognition. Students will receive handouts during the 12-week Session.
Classes are for any senior who would like to learn new dance movements with cultural education behind them.

AFSDᵀᴹ - Afro Fusion Sharqi Dance-online
Description: This is an Adult Dance Program that runs in 4 Phases: Beginning (Phase I), Beginning-Intermediate (Phase II), Intermediate-Advance (Phase III), and Advanced (Phase IV). Each Phase happens for almost a year, from fall to spring, and each season there is new content. When one finishes all 4 phases, one becomes a teacher of this dance style and can teach other people, perform, do workshops, etc. The goal is to develop skills such as good posture, technique, body expression, muscle control, body isolation, space exploration, level change, combinations, musicality, rhythm, step-by-step of every movement, and the cultural aspects behind it, and much more.
Students will learn the first part of AFSDᵀᴹ vocabulary, and they will receive a Student Syllabus.
Classes are for everyone who likes to dance, have fun and learn new skills. It’s all about inclusivity.

For all private lessons, full payment of your first lesson is required to reserve your spot.
For any Adult/ Teenager/ Seniors Group Season Program (12 Classes), full payment is required to reserve your spot. NO REFUNDS after payment unless accompanied by a doctor´s note and will be subject to a $100 cancellation fee.
For any Kids Group Season Program (6 Classes), full payment is required to reserve your spot. NO REFUNDS after payment unless accompanied by a doctor´s note and will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
For any Adult/ Teenager/ Seniors Drop-In Group Classes, full payment for that class is needed before the class. Absolute NO REFUNDS after payment unless accompanied by a doctor´s note.
Any cancellation or app. changes for private lessons must be done 24 hours in advance for a full refund or changes without charge.
For same-day cancellations or app. changes, the full amount for private lessons is not refundable.
For an adult performance team, the commitment of monthly tuition is for a full season. If a team member decides to drop after the add/drop deadline, there will be a cancellation fee charged.
